LOFTY TARGET FOR SERGIO ROMERO

Sergio Romero admits he is relieved to have qualified for next year's World Cup with Argentina and is already targeting a place in the final itself.
The Manchester United keeper will have a dress rehearsal in Russia when his country take on the hosts in a friendly on Saturday and he is dreaming of appearing in a second consecutive final after keeping goal against Germany in 2014.
Jorge Sampaoli's side struggled in the South American group and were under real threat when trailing to Ecuador in the final fixture. However, a Lionel Messi hat-trick avoided the unthinkable for the proud footballing nation and has already got the Reds' number two planning ahead for next summer.
"It has been a very tough qualifying campaign for us this time around," Romero told MUTV recently. "I think that, these days, nothing is a given in South America.
"All the national teams are very strong, nothing is given to you on a plate by any opposing team. And, this year or so, it’s been our turn to suffer a little. But, thankfully, in that final game little Leo (El Enano) managed to show all of his qualities by scoring

those really important three goals for us and all of our country.
"So now we are there, in Russia, and we have time for the team and the squad to get ready and prepare, so we can go into the first game of this World Cup in the best form possible, and God willing, Argentina can repeat once again what we did in 2014 in Brazil, and still be involved on the final day of the tournament.
"That’s what we’re all aiming for so that the team and the nation can enjoy the tournament from the first to the final day, and hopefully, in the best way possible."
